Starting to hold an item no longer causes your arm to tilt to the left in first-person

Before version 1.9, if you started holding an item (either by switching the hotbar slot or picking up an item) while your hand was previously empty, your hand would tilt slightly to the left while moving downward. This animation made sense, as it resembled the player using their hand to pick up the item. This behavior no longer occurs, possibly due to the fix for MC-1349. It may be intentional, but I am unsure.

How to reproduce:

  1. Drop an item

  2. Make sure your hand is empty

  3. Pick up the item

  4. Take note of whether your hand tilts slightly as it moves downward

Expected result

As your hand moves downward, it should tilt the same way it did before 1.9.

Observed result

Your hand does not rotate at all while moving downward.
