When I charge the crossbow with my left hand, my right hand no longer rotates in 1st person. This feature was introduced in the 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Part 1 update, but it no longer works in recent versions. The arm rotation used to represent the visual look of my arm in 3rd person. If I had punched something, my right arm in 1st person would return to its default position, matching its behavior in 3rd person.
How to reproduce:
Give yourself a crossbow in your left hand.
Empty right hand!
Charge your crossbow
→ ❌ The arm in 1st person does not update and remains at its default rotation unlike 3rd person.

Why would this be considered a bug? If you review the history, you'll notice that Mojang never marked the linked report as fixed. This feature was simply reported as a bug by a random user, and after it stopped working, it was marked as resolved. I recommend keeping this ticket open for Mojang to review and make a decision, as I don't believe it was a bug. As explained in the description, this appeared to be a feature since it resembled third-person behavior.
That report was assigned priority by Mojang, so it changing after that happened indicates it was not intended.
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue is Working as Intended.
The report you have submitted is working as intended: see MC-227169 and its status as 'fixed'.
Please note, that mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.
