Flying towards a mob using a trident enchanted with Riptide and switching to Spectator mode right before hitting the mob causes the player to spectate the mob instead.
How to reproduce:
Give yourself a trident enchanted with Riptide.
Execute the following command:
/weather rain/weather rainWhile inside a biome where it can rain, summon any mob.
Move around 15 blocks away from the mob (to give yourself time to switch game modes before hitting it).
Make sure you are in a game mode other than Spectator.
Look towards the mob.
Throw the trident towards the mob and very quickly press F3+N to switch to Spectator mode.
→ ❌ You are now spectating the mob.
Expected result:
A player in Spectator mode flying towards a mob using a trident with Riptide would just fly through the mob and nothing special would happen.
Observed result:
A player in Spectator mode flying towards a mob using a trident with Riptide starts spectating the mob as soon as they reach it.
