Mangrove roots conduct redstone signal, unlike other transparent blocks

The bug

Despite their transparent appearance (similar to leaves), a redstone signal will pass through mangrove roots (this is not the case with leaves).

To reproduce

  1. Place one redstone repeater facing into some mangrove roots, and one repeater facing away it.

  2. Power the first repeater

Observed behaviour

The second repeater becomes powered, as the mangrove roots are able to be powered by the repeater.

It might be worth mentioning that @unknown seemed glad about mangrove roots conducting redstone signal. He said that it's the first water-loggable block that can be powered, and that it's also a spawn-proof powerable block.

Of course, usefulness alone does not imply anything about whether or not a behavior is intended, but this might be something that should be considered.

If this gets resolved as WAI then, MC-249086 should probably too, as fixing that would break touching redstone then.

This is intentional! 🙂
