While I was testing this data-pack, the bed I started with glowed like a glow squid! I don't really know how this could happen any other way than placing the 2 parts with the "setblock" command.
The data-pack doesn't work well, but this is the one I had before, and I have a like-version of it that I am going to test.

I thought that it also happened without the resource pack, and here it is what I was talking about. This made the bed glow.

Can you please attach a screenshot or video of this occurring whilst the debug (F3) screen is open?
This sounds a lot like MC-4402 but that has been fixed for 7 years
