Strongholds encased in stone sometimes look weird if intersecting into open areas

The bug

If a stronghold is covered by stone, the stone will often look very weird and off if it intersects with an open area. This is probably related to the recent fix of MC-214814, where floating strongholds were changed to be encased in stone.

Why was this marked as "Works as Intended" when Developer Henrik Kniberg has said it’s a bug on Twitter?
