The hitbox of the weeping vines appears much bigger than it's collision detection is for climbing, leading to an inconsistent and incorrect idea of where the player can climb.
Steps to Reproduce:
Place down weeping vines
Try to climb near the edge of the hitbox
Observed Results:
The player will fall off the vines sooner than expected
Expected Results:
The player would be able to climb the vines within the full hitbox of the block
Screenshots/Videos:
Notes:
This affects gameplay such as:
Trying to place blocks while climbing
Attacking (will break the vines)
Falling unexpectedly

Can confirm in 23w42a. I'd like to request ownership of this issue to update the title and description as currently it's worded subjectively.
Hitboxes or collision boxes are irrelevant to climbing mechanics. The climbing behavior of a block is not influenced by its hitbox; this applies to all climbable blocks, not just weeping vines. Climbable blocks simply check if the entity's block coordinates match the coordinates of the climbable block. It essentially checks whether the center of the entity's feet is within the block. This bug report seems to result from a misunderstanding of how climbing works. There is no "collision for climbing" in the game.
