The bug

When an item breaks, it reappears for a few frames as you were switching to it from another slot.

Steps to reproduce

• Acquire an item that has one durability

  Example: /give @s minecraft:fishing_rod{Damage:63}

  Example: /give @s minecraft:fishing_rod{Damage:63}

• Break it by using it
  → ❌ Notice how the item pops back up for a few frames (as if you were switching to a slot with that item) before breaking.

Additional information

• May not work with short items visually but will still happen regardless.
