I dropped the gold ingot to Piglin, when Piglin picked up the gold ingot, I didn't receive the advancement "Oh Shiny". Same thing happened by giving directly to Piglin.

The advancement is only given when you drop or give a golden item while it is aggressive towards you. Does this explain your issue?
