The bug
When growing a warped or crimson fungi with bonemeal, if there is a block of fire above it, then the fungi grows, skipping past the fire.
How to reproduce
Place a block of crimson or warped nylium down
Place the corresponding fungus on the nylium
Place a log, plank, or other flammable item above the fungus
Set the plank on fire from the top using flint and steel or a fire charge
Bonemeal the fungus until it grows into a giant fungus; you should see that the oak log and the fire are still there

"World generation" is used as the category for tree / fungus growth, even if it does not only happen through natural world generation.
This is related to MC-170858.
Hey pine1needle! I think that in this case, it should be considered a bug, because when the fire eventually burns down the wood that it was placed on (or goes out by itself), it will just be an air block. I think that the fungi shouldn't check for solid blocks, like wood, fungi, or bedrock, above it, but it shouldn't grow if there's something like fire or soul fire (blocks, but not really blocks) directly above it.
The issue here isn't due to world generation; it only occurs when a player follows the steps above during gameplay.
