Bees dont remember where flowers are and wont go very far to find new ones

I tried to get my bees to pollinate my field by putting their flowers on the opposite side of the field so they would drop pollen on it but they don't seem to remember where their at and I have to pull the over with a flower in my hand to get them to the flowers and its not a far flight only about how many blocks 2 water blocks can possibly wet

What I expected to happen was...:
bee to fly over to their flowers

What actually happened was...:
they just sat outside their hive not knowing what to do

1.hive one one side of the field
