Illager beasts drown

See summary. Given that illager beasts are equivalents to iron golems, which are mobs that don't drown, it doesn't make sense, unless there is proof that beasts aren't artificial mobs like the golem.

How to reproduce:

  1. Make a 3 x 3 x 3 hole

  2. Cover it with a ceiling

  3. Fill it with water

  4. Spawn an illager beast

→ ❌  It drowns after a while, eventually dying after a long time due to its massive HP.

It's true that the beast should swim, as cows do. But beast is an animal so it should drown if it can't breath

Iron golems (the beasts counterparts) don't drown. Why should the similarly-sized beast drown too? The beast itself has several signs of potentially being "artificial" like iron golems, like its 50% chance of having no knockback, its lead-like texture, and the metal-like stepping sounds it makes. I wouldn't exactly consider the beast an "animal" due to these traits.

Oh, and the beast can swim, which is why my instructions tell you to put a ceiling over the hole.

Might be WAI. I guess I'll leave this issue here and see what Mojang/the moderators decide to do with it.

I would say this is WAI, but we would have to wait until a developer confirms that it is WAI.

Who said the illager beasts are the counterparts of iron golems? Despite that, I don't see that this is a bug.
