I am using a lenovo laptop (windows ten) and i am using a n hdmi cable to project my screen to a sony tv,, though on the laptop it only shows the title screen in a smaller format, though it shows what it should on the tv. I am using no audio/video cables connected to the tv.

This sounds like an issue with your setup, not with Minecraft.
But, to be fair, from what you've written I don't understand what you're trying to do and what your actual issue is. Maybe you want to clear that up.
