The bug
When I enter third-person view and I look up, the backside of my head turns dark, and when I look down, it becomes too bright.

I am able to reproduce this in 19w46b, but even without wearing a player head. And something similar can also be seen with the held item or the empty hand in first person mode.
It is brighter when it is horizontal and you view it from above than when viewing it from the side or below.
To be fair, the sun is shining the light from the sky, so the back of the head should be lighter if it's facing up?

Can confirm in 1.19 and 22w24a. It would probably be worth updating this ticket in accordance with the above comment by @unknown. (This issue can be reproduced even when not wearing anything on your head).
This behaviour is no longer reproducable in 19w46b.
