Easily reproducible situation where regular mouse pointer stays on screen when it shouldn't

Here's what you need to make this bug happen:

  • A Mac

  • A second monitor connected to the Mac

  • Minecraft in fullscreen mode (using the green orb in the window, so it has its own desktop) on the primary monitor

  • A youtube video actively playing in a Safari window on the second monitor, using the Flash plugin (although I think it might happen with HTML5, but that seems to be broken for me in the latest Safari).

Procedure:

  • Be sure you're not looking at inventory or a chest UI or anything that would give you a regular mouse pointer. You should see crosshairs, and moving the mouse should control the player view orientation.

  • Command-Tab from Minecraft on the primary screen to Safari on the second monitor, switching focus to Safari, but Minecraft is still in full-screen mode on the primary monitor.

  • Make sure the you video is playing.

  • Move the mouse pointer back to the primary monitor and click to give focus back to Minecraft.

Expected behavior:

  • The regular mouse pointer should disappear.

Actual behavior:

  • The regular mouse pointer persists on the screen.

Work-around:

  • Hit the escape key twice

If you're thinking that this is some kind of obscure corner case, don't. This kind of monitor configuration is particularly common with people who record playing Minecraft for youtube, although many such people even have three monitors. Personally, I'm afflicted by this bug constantly, because I regularly connect a second monitor to my MacBook pro and watch youtube videos while playing Minecraft. A common usage scenario that would drive you nuts is when you're trying to follow a youtube tutorial (on a second monitor) on how to build something in Minecraft (on the primary monitor). It's common for the user to need to frequently pause the video to complete some steps and catch up with the video. Every time they return to the game, there's that mouse pointer at some random location on the screen, never moving around and really distracting the eye. It's kinda hard to describe how distracting that is, because besides the crosshairs, it's the only thing that is completely stationary on the screen, so it's really prominent and it's disconcerting because the mouse pointer doesn't behave like you expect it to, because it's stationary even when you move the mouse.

Can someone please check if this is still an issue in the latest snapshot 17w50a?
