The new launcher has cut my FPS down greatly / Not recognizing GPU

Using a Firework Rocket with no stars (just paper and gunpowder) kicks the player with an End of Stream error.

Constant crashes in the Nether (Multiplayer as far as I know)

The sounds for cows are cut off early instead of playing all the way through
