Have to click several times before a block begins to break

When the banners were first introduced, i crashed everytime i tried to load them. (in inventory or crafting table) Now that is fixed but the color is not loadng on the banners. Everything i try makes the banners completely white.

When i did /give [player] Barrier...it didn't work. I tried again as /give [player] barrier...it did work. I believe this is a bug to have capitals not work. If this isn't a bug...sorry for wasting your time!
